Alloy Steel SAE/AISI 4130 is a medium carbon, low alloy steel containing 0.15/0.25% molybdenum and 0.80/1.10% chromium as strengthening agents. This type of steel is also commonly referred to as a chromoly steel, or chrome-moly steel. 434 Stainless Steel UNS S43400 UlbrichType 434 is one of the most widely used of the "non-hardenable" ferritic stainless steels. The addition of molybdenum increases this alloy's corrosion resistance and its attack to many deicing chemicals. It combines good heat and oxidation resistance up to 1500 °F (816 °C) as well as good mechanical properties. Chemistry Typical Carbon:0.08 max

In this work, the mechanical properties and microstructures of AISI 4340 high strength alloy steel under different tempering conditions are investigated. The specimens are quenched and tempered to a martensite structure and loaded to fracture at a constant strain-rate of 3.3×10 4 s 1 by means of a dynamic material testing machine (MTS 810). AISI 316 Stainless Steel vs. AISI 434 Stainless Steel Both AISI 316 stainless steel and AISI 434 stainless steel are iron alloys. They have 86% of their average alloy composition in common. There are 35 material properties with values for both materials. Properties with values for just one material (1, in this case) are not shown.
